Storytime: Tuesdays and Thursdays at 10:30am 

Join Miss Wendy for read alouds, singing, playing, dancing, and crafts! Tuesday and Thursday each week are the same theme.

 

Zen before Zzzzs: Tuesdays at 6:30pm

Grab your yoga mat and join yoga instructor Sheehan Shotwell for an inspiring yoga practice each week. No registration is necessary, and all are welcome!

 

Banned Books Week: Monday, October 2 – Saturday, October 7

Stop by to see what we’ve got up our sleeves and on our shelves for Banned Books Week 2023… and yes, there will be a prize!

 

Evening Book Club: Thursday, October 12 at 6:30pm

Frankenstein by Mary Shelley

This 1818 novel tells the story of young scientist Victor Frankenstein who creates a sapient creature in an unorthodox experiment. Place a hold for this book in the catalog or find it on Libby as an eBook. The November book will be Snow Falling on Cedars  by David Guterson. No registration is necessary, and all are welcome!

 

Fall Festival: Saturday, October 14 from 11am-1pm 

Celebrate the season with us on Saturday, October 14th – drop by anytime between 11am to 1pm! We’ll have delicious snacks, fun games, easy crafts, a Frankestein StoryWalk, and banjo music by Robert Olaf and Elsa Siegers to get you in the fall spirit!

Afternoon Book Club: Thursday, October 19 at 1pm

The Confession of Brother Haluin by Ellis Peters    

This novel, set in the 12th century, is about Brother Haluin who survives his deathbed confession. Place a hold for this book in the catalog or find it on Libby as an eBook or audiobook. The November book will be The Broken Girls by Simone St. James. No registration is necessary, and all are welcome!

 

Makerspace: Cornhusk Dolls: Saturday, October 21 from 10am-12pm

This month’s MakerSpace is geared towards ages 7-13, but adults are more than welcome to sign up too! Space is limited and registration is required; stop by the library to register or call 625-3333.

 

Tioga PACT’s Trunk or Treat: Monday, October 23 from 6-7:30pm

The library will be closing at 5pm on Monday, October 23 to ready our trunk for Tioga PACT’s Trunk or Treat event in the Health and Human Services parking lot at 1062 State Route 38 in Owego. Bring your trick-or-treat bag and join us for a fun-filled night with the community! Look for the Harry Potter Trunk to spot your library friends!

 

Adult Computer Literacy Class: Monday, October 30 from 5-7pm

This two-hour class will be on “Microsoft Word and PDFs”. Registration is required; please stop by the library or call 625-3333 to reserve your spot.
